Renormalization group flow equations for scalar 4 are generated using smooth smearing functions. Numerical results for the critical exponent in d = 3 are caculated by polynomial truncation of the blocked potential. It is shown that the covergence of with the order of truncation can be improved by fine tuning of the smoothness parameter.
