Preface The past decade has witnessed an unprecedented growth of e-business and business intelligence, characterized by mobility, virtualization, personalization, extreme-data, and sociality (e.g., Web 2.0, Enterprise 2.0, Cloud Computing, Semantic Web, Mobile Computing, Internet of Things, etc). The ever growing demand and the need for rapidly changing and adaptable e-business platforms, and supporting intelligence and technologies for rapidly evolving, complex and risk environments raise unique and evolving opportunities for research in business intelligence. The ICEBI2010 conference is a premier international meeting in the fields of e-business and business intelligence, designed to showcase cutting edge research and accomplishments, and to enrich the educational and industrial experience in these fields. It represents a unique opportunity for meeting colleagues and friends, exchanging ideas, and learning about each new developments and best practice, while working to advance the understanding of the knowledge base that we will collectively draw upon in the years ahead to meet future challenges. Participants will attend presentations by scholars representing both industry and academia. The ever growing demand and the need for rapidly changing and adaptable business intelligence and supporting technologies will be viewed from many perspectives. The ICEBI2010 proceedings a include over 70 papers
selected via a peer review process. The conference program features keynote speeches by
world-leading scholars and parallel sessions for regular paper presentations, as well as
special sessions on related subjects of particular interest.
In making this conference possible, we want to acknowledge our deep appreciation for
