CALL FOR PAPERS

Today's society is a risk society, filled with challenges as well as opportunities. Frightened by catastrophic events, such as 9.11, SARS, Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, South Asia Earthquake disaster, and Bird Flu, people increasingly  regard risk and crisis as urgent issues. 

In order to strengthen  exchange, promote a higher level of methodology and practice, and provide an international forum for sharing theory and applications of risk analysis and crisis response, we will hold the First International Conference on Risk Analysis and Crisis Response, from September 25 to 26, 2007 , in Shanghai , China

The conference will be held in China in part because the Chinese government is paying greater attention to risk analysis and crisis response, and has issued the Master State Plan for Rapid Response to Public Emergencies. 

The RACR-07 Program Committee invites submissions of technical papers for RACR-07. Submissions are invited on significant, original, and previously unpublished research on all aspects of risk analysis and crisis response, including topics such as: 

1.The latest theory and method on risk analysis. 
2. Theory and method on crisis response. 
3. Risk analysis and emergency management of natural disasters. 
4. Risk analysis and emergency management of catastrophic accidents. 
5. Risk analysis of public health and crisis response to outbreaks .

7. Global environment change, globalization and regionalization risk analysis. 
8. Risk analysis of computer network services. 
9. Risk analysis on market fluctuation and technology development. 
10. Yield risk analysis on agriculture products. 
11. Hazard identification of major accidents. 
12. Environmental risk assessment and management in complex conditions. 
13. Risk issues due to the shortage of vital strategic resources. 
14. Financial risk and risk management in insurance. 
15. Information theory and technology for risk analysis and crisis management. 
16. Graphic information system applications in risk analysis and crisis management
17. Computer simulation theory and technology on emergency plans. 
18. Computer simulation technology on the leakage and diffusion of dangerous goods.
19. Computer simulation technology and safety assessment on port and waterway engineering projects.

The best papers will be selected for publication in special issues of the following journals:
