
Zeger Karssen
Zeger Karssen is the founder and President of the Atlantis Press group. He holds degrees in both Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam and since then has gained extensive experience in the fields of scientific research, publishing and internet technology. Earlier occupations include work as a Senior Researcher in Artificial Intelligence for the University of Amsterdam and for a private lab in Paris. Since 2000, he worked as a Publisher for industry-leading scientific publishing house Elsevier where he managed a portfolio of 15 internationally renowned journals in the field of Artificial Intelligence and launched four new journals as well as two major book series. Zeger founded Atlantis Press in 2006 and manages the company from its offices in Paris and Amsterdam. Within the company he acts as Publishing Director for all product portfolios as well as Publisher in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Besides this, Zeger has also worked as advisor for the European Commission and is currently Associate Professor for Digital Publishing at the Free University of Brussels (ULB).
