- Abstract
The study examined the dynamic relationship between technological advancement, energy efficiency, and economic performance in Gulf countries, using a Mamdani fuzzy inference system (FIS) as a methodological framework. Drawing on empirical evidence and literature, the study confirms that technology acts as a catalyst for economic transformation, particularly in regions striving to diversify away from oil-based revenues. The model developed integrates three core dimensions—technological innovation, energy-use efficiency, and strategic investment in digital infrastructure—and demonstrates their combined effect on economic outcomes. The Mamdani fuzzy system proved effective in capturing the nonlinear and linguistic nature of these relationships, offering a realistic and flexible analytical tool for policy assessment.
Key findings indicate that higher levels of technological innovation are positively associated with GDP growth and competitiveness. Energy efficiency improvements lead to operational cost reductions and better environmental-economic balance. Increased investment in digital technologies significantly contributes to economic diversification and job creation. Moreover, the fuzzy logic approach allows policymakers to handle uncertainty and vagueness in economic forecasting, especially in emerging digital economies like those of the GCC. In conclusion, the integration of advanced technology and sustainable energy management is not only desirable but essential for achieving long-term economic resilience in the Gulf region. Policymakers should therefore prioritize digital transformation strategies, support R&D ecosystems, and adopt data-driven tools such as fuzzy modeling to enhance decision-making under uncertainty.
