- Abstract
Efficiency serves as a crucial indicator for assessing the overall performance of agricultural enterprises. It can be analyzed through both parametric and non-parametric methods. Consequently, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the parametric approach utilizing Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) and the non-parametric approach employing Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) in measuring technical efficiency. The research was conducted in East Java Province, specifically in Nganjuk Regency, a recognized soybean production area, where a simple random sampling technique was applied to select 112 soybean farmers. The results reveal that the technical efficiency levels of soybean farmers, as measured by both SFA and DEA methods, are not optimal, with none achieving 100%. This finding indicates that the SFA approach is more effective for enhancing technical efficiency in soybean farming in Indonesia.
