- Abstract
Local image descriptors are widely used and play an important role in temporal video segmentation tasks. However, the study of descriptors performance under a temporal video segmentation context has been overlooked. In this paper, we present a qualitative and quantitative performance evaluation of state-of-the-art local image descriptors in temporal video segmentation tasks. Additionally, we complement our study with an analysis of the applicability of local descriptor-based temporal segmentation to video summarization.
