- Abstract
With the growth of our country's economy and the improvement of living standard, the development of sports and the improvement of national physique have been paid close attention to by the whole society. This paper theoretically analyzes the relationship between economic growth and the development of sports and national fitness improvement, and puts forward three basic propositions, based on the empirical panel data at the provincial level to test the correlation between economic growth and the development of sports industry. At the same time, based on the data published by the State General Administration of sport on national fitness monitoring, this paper empirically tests the promotion of sports development to the improvement of national physique. The results show that: first, economic growth has a strong role in promoting the development of sports, there are obvious differences between regions and this effect; secondly, economic growth can promote the development of sports to indirectly achieve the national physique improvement; finally, this paper based on the econometric test results, are given to promote the development of sports and national the policies of improving physique.
