Abstract

Due to the lack of quantum hardware, quantum simulation (QS) is the most common method to study quantum computing. Even so, simulators and simulations should be properly built to use the maxim computational power possible. This work focuses on the main problem related to the memory accesses, representing a bottleneck not just for QS, but for computer science research as a whole. The proposed methodology collaborates with the memory usage reduction, mitigating the effects of this disparity of performance between memory and other computers peripherals. The results have achieved improvements about memory, and overall speed of circuit simulations, showing it can be applied not only for QS, but also for related researches which need to develop better memory access pattern. Regarding the D-GM simulator, the reflects of this research are presented on functions of controlled operators, such as dense, primary and secondary diagonal patterns, having an improvement of execution time in order of 50%.
