Abstract

Stunting in early childhood is a significant challenge in health development, particularly in areas with high prevalence such as Baubau City. This study aims to analyze the effect of the “Bapak Asuh Anak Stunting” program on the nutritional status of children aged 6–23 months. The program involves financial support, supplementary feeding, and health education for families with stunted and at-risk children. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a Post-Test Non-Randomized Control Group Design approach. A total of 46 children were divided into two groups: intervention and control. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements (height-for-age) and structured interviews with parents. The results showed no significant effect of the program on the nutritional status of children in the intervention group compared to the control group, with a p-value of 0.655 (p-value > 0.05). Factors that might have influenced these findings include the limited duration of the intervention, low family participation, and challenges in program implementation at the community level. In conclusion, the “Bapak Asuh Anak Stunting” program requires further evaluation regarding its design and implementation to achieve a more meaningful impact on children’s nutritional status.
