- English stylistics has long been a specialized course for college English majors. Stylistics understands the deep meaning through the surface language form, thus enhances the appropriateness of the language expression. Therefore, stylistics analysis method is an important means to reform the intensive reading course teaching and improve the teaching quality. This paper discusses the application of stylistics in college English teaching from the aspects of listening, speaking, reading and writing. It can develop students' ability to appreciate and distinguish languages and improve their logical thinking ability and finally improve students' reading comprehension ability. By introducing stylistic analysis theory into college English reading class, students can improve their understanding of articles from words to texts, and develop their ability of comprehensive processing texts.
