This paper embarks on an extensive exploration into the application of OpenAI’s ChatGPT model within Question and Answer (Q&A) systems. With the advancement of natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning technologies, a new era of conversational artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged. Systems such as ChatGPT, with their ability to generate human-like text, have brought forth significant opportunities for interactive Q&A systems. The paper provides a historical review of Q&A systems, tracking their evolution from specialized knowledge domains to general-purpose models. It further delves into the current real-world applications, strengths, and potential growth areas of ChatGPT. A series of case studies are presented to illustrate the transformative impact of these AI-driven Q&A systems on our interaction with digital platforms. Additionally, the paper scrutinizes the associated risks and challenges of deploying AI in Q&A systems. The ultimate aim is to enhance our understanding of the potential of models like ChatGPT, and to promote further innovation and exploration in this rapidly evolving field.
