Abstract

The 6600 DWT asphalt carrier is taken as an example, utilizing the finite element software MSC/PATRAN and MSC/NASTRAN, which the research on yield and bucking direct calculation of asphalt carrier structural strength is conducted respectively dealing with temperature field and without temperature field. The influence of temperature field on asphalt carrier's structural strength is analyzed and reasonable intensive scheme is proposed against structures dissatisfied the requirement of strength, which provide important reference to the design and construction of similar ships.
