Abstract
A framework of virtual 3D city aiming at rapid, interactive and intuitive landscape prototype design is presented in this paper. The conception or assembling phase of a virtual city is usually a laborious process, because the layout and manipulation of 3D scene objects often does not yield the expected results due to the lack of auxiliary 3D information with the condition that only 2D user interfaces are available. With the help of spatial layout information and elementary spatial constraints, rapid prototype construction of virtual city landscape is possible.
