- Abstract
The objective of this study is to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the aerofoil using novel method of minute vortex generators. The simulation work was carried out using Reynold Average Navier Stokes equation with k omega SST turbulence model to evaluate the aerodynamic performance in terms of lift, drag coefficient. The proposed method is to divide the size of existing vortex generator into small size and same placed in two different locations with small size. The results shows that the lift and stall angle improved by 50% and 26% at the same time the drag was reduced by considerable amount. This proposed method can replace the existing aircraft vortex generators and improve the aerodynamic performances.
