- Despite the needs of the labor market in biologists who know mathematical methods at a high level, the current system of mathematical training of students of biological specialties does not meet these requirements. The article discusses the concept of biomathematical culture of the students as the main indicator of the effectiveness of the educational process in mathematics. The author’s definition of student biomathematical culture is presented, its component composition and levels of formation are defined. The results of experimental work are presented, what allowed to identify the existing problems in the mathematical training of students of biological specialties. The directions of students’ biomathematical culture formation are suggested and their effectiveness is evaluated.
