Abstract

The Digital Database for Breast Ultrasound Image (DDBUI) is a database of digitized screen sonography with associated ground truth and some other information. The DDBUI project is a collaborative effort involving the Harbin Institute of Technology and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University. The purpose of this resource is to provide a set of sonography images that may be used by researchers to evaluate and compare the performance of computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) algorithms. It contained 285 cases, each of which has 3~8 images and some corresponding information (patient age, sex, family history), and image information included shape, boundary, envelope, echo pattern, microcalcification et al. Totally 1132 images have been collected in the database and the number is growing. This paper provided an overview of the completed database, including the background of the project, the contents of the database, the organization of the cases and the access to the database.
