Research and Analysis on the Impact of AI on Energy and Sustainable Development Based on Entropy-Coupling Coordination Model—Taking Chongqing as an Example

Abstract

Currently, with the increasing prominence of geopolitical and global climate change challenges, the global energy landscape is undergoing profound adjustments. This study evaluates and analyzes the energy and sustainable development of Chongqing Municipality, China, under the influence of AI. Quantitative research methods are employed, utilizing the entropy method and a coupled coordination model to evaluate and analyze the selected energy and sustainable development data of Chongqing Municipality from 2019 to 2023. The findings are: 1) Overall score: The overall score of energy and sustainable development in Chongqing Municipality continued to rise from 2019 to 2023. 2) Subsystem scores exhibit differentiated characteristics: the energy subsystem score shows a slow upward trend; the economic subsystem score shows a slow-then-rapid upward trend; the environmental subsystem score generally shows a steady upward trend; and the social subsystem score shows a sawtooth upward trend. 3) Coupling Analysis: From 2019 to 2023, Chongqing’s energy and sustainable development achieved a leap from severe imbalance to high-quality coordination.
