Abstract

As the second largest freshwater lake in China, the health status of the water ecological environment of Dongting Lake not only has a profound impact on the biodiversity of the lake area, but also directly relates to the flood safety, water resource security, and food security of the lake area and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. In recent years, with the influence of industrial development, urbanization and agricultural non-point source pollution, the water ecological environment of Dongting Lake is facing increasingly severe pressure. Although various remediation projects targeting the water ecological environment of Dongting Lake have achieved initial results, the ecological environment of the lake is stable and improving on the whole, but there are still risks such as frequent flood and drought disasters, rapid change of drought and flood, flood season drought, local water pollution and wetland function degradation, which seriously threaten the safety of the lake area. Therefore, it is particularly important to conduct a comprehensive risk analysis on the water ecological environment of Dongting Lake. Based on literature research, statistical analysis and water environment assessment methods, this study deeply analyzed the main risk factors of the water eco-environment of Dongting Lake and put forward the prevention and control measures, in order to provide scientific basis and reference for “protecting the clear water of the river” and supporting the green and sustainable development of the social economy of the lake.
