Abstract

Economic security of a city is considered as a set of characteristics, indices and conditions providing its good functioning as a complex territorial and economic object. A relevant task is here the diagnostics of the level of the economic security of a city which can be carried out on the basis of the set of social and economic indicators reflecting the capability of the economy of a city to sustainable development, improvement of quality of life for the population, investing into a municipal community. An important constituent of the economic security of a city is the quality and convenience of the environment for life of population considered as favourable conditions for living. This specific constituent of the economic security of the city is the subject of research of the authors.
