Abstract
Shandong and its coastal areas are located in the eastern part of the North China tectonic region, and their strong seismic activities are uneven. There have been devastating earthquakes such as the Tanlu earthquake, the Bohai earthquake, and the Heze earthquake in history. With the development of the economy and the dramatic increase in population density, the earthquake risk in Shandong and coastal areas has become increasingly high. This paper focuses on the characteristics of earthquake risk and earthquake disaster risk in Shandong and coastal areas, introduces population density and GDP development level of Shandong area into the disaster carrier, and then obtains the spatial distribution of earthquake risk in Shandong province. At last, according to the characteristics of earthquake disaster risk in Shandong, some suggestions to reduce earthquake disaster risk are given.
