Abstract

Chalcone is an important intermediate in many biologically active compounds such as flavonoid. Chalcone was prepared by the aldol condensation of benzaldehyde with acetophenone. In this paper, five novel chalcone derivatives were prepared. The structure were confirmed by MS and 1H NMR. Furthermore, the synthetic method was optimized. The yield of the step was at least 85% or more.
