The 2022 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education (ICAIE 2022) was successfully held in Chengdu, China during June 24-26, 2022. ICAIE 2022 provided a platform for experts and scholars to share professional experience and discuss how to empower and promote the high-quality development of “artificial intelligence” and “education”.

In the conference, we were delighted and honored to have Prof. Zehui Zhan from South China Normal University, China to serve as our Conference Chairman. More than 300 individuals participated in the conference. Divided into two parts, the conference included keynote speeches and oral presentations. Firstly, the keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to address their speeches. Then in the oral presentations, the excellent papers we had selected were presented by their authors one by one.

Four distinguished professors were invited to hold keynote speeches during the conference. Among them, Assoc. Prof. Lim Chee Leong from Taylor’s University, Malaysia performed a keynote speech on the title: Innovating Technology Rich Hybrid-Ready Learning Spaces for Better Engagement. In this research, with Taylor’s Virtual eXtended Learning Theatre, he and his team combined hybrid-ready learning spaces with innovating technology to mimic a highly immersive and synchronous classroom setting and they believe this Virtual eXtended Learning Theatre is an example of how the Universities of the Future might look like. Moreover, Assoc. Prof. Ng Woon Lam from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore delivered a speech on Practical Color Theory Development Based on the Munsell Color System. He investigated the current pedagogical approach to The Color Theory, one of the main topics at Bauhaus during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, for visual art students at Singapore tertiary art institutions. Then, he developed a hybrid entry model to take advantage of two models and bridge tertiary art students’ learning with the current industrial practices. Their insightful speeches had triggered heated discussion. And every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge.

We are glad to share with you that we’ve selected a bunch of high-quality papers from the submissions and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewing them. These papers feature but are not limited to the following topics: Intelligent Automation, AI Algorithms, Information Education, Adaptive Learning Environment, etc. All the papers have been checked through rigorous review and processes to meet the requirements of publication.

We would like to acknowledge all of those who supported ICAIE 2022 and made it a great success. In particular, we would like to thank the Atlantis Highlights in Computer Sciences, for all the efforts of its colleagues in publishing this paper volume. We sincerely hope that ICAIE 2022 turned out to be a forum for excellent discussions that enable new ideas to come about, promoting collaborative research.
