- Abstract
- CTE contest is an international scientific distance game-competition for school-children which provides participants with three optimization problems for one week and three software modules (virtual la-boratories) that allow experimenting with problems and automatically save best solutions. After the contest, organizers compare best solutions of different participants and determine winners. All problems are connected with important mathematical or other scientific ideas, so virtual laboratories may be used not only in the contest but also in a class. The paper describes laboratories used for the contest, requirements on their interaction with participants, a simple but powerful framework being used to implement them.
