Website: http://www.iccaue.org/ Available on latest research progress of researches related to civil architecture and urban engineering, this paper volume gathers a bunch of papers collected at the 2023 5th International Conference on Civil Architecture and Urban Engineering (ICCAUE 2023), held via hybrid form in Xiamen, China, during November 17–19, 2023. ICCAUE 2023 was hosted by Tianjin University and Tianjin Port Engineering Research Institute of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). In the opening ceremony speech, Mr. Aimin Liu, Chief Engineer of Tianjin Port Engineering Research Institute of CCCC, delivered an opening speech and expressed his heartfelt thanks and sincere welcome to all academicians, experts, and scholars who spared their precious time to attend the Conference. And then Professor Jinfang Hou (TianjinWater Transport Engineering Association, China), Professor YUEN Ka Veng (University of Macau, China), Associate Professor Bin Hu (Beijing University of Technology, China), and Mr.Chao Liang (Tianjin University,China) delivered their keynote speeches, respectively, leading to a warm atmosphere of academic discussion. In addition, oral and poster presentation parts were also held and displayed by various scholars. We received a number of submissions from the Conference. After a rigorous review process by related top experts and review rebuttal process, various excellent papers were accepted and included in this paper volume. These papers cover mainly the following topics: Civil Engineering Design and Theory, Hydraulic and Hydroelectric Engineering, Urban Atmospheric Environment Management, Urban Public Security Management, Intelligent Building, etc. The works of this volume can promote the development of civil architecture and urban engineering and thereby enhance scientific information interchange among scholars from top universities, research centers, and high-tech enterprises working all around the world. Featuring the most cutting-edge research directions and achievements related to civil architecture and urban engineering, this Conference provided the most comprehensive research in related fields and a more comprehensive understanding of the latest results of cross-researches in the fields. Meanwhile, it also helped researchers and engineers understand the research frontier, as well as discover the solutions to potential problems. We would like to acknowledge the authors for their contributions and the reviewers for their time to review the submissions. We are thankful to all the committee members and advisors of this volume.
