- Abstract
This study examines the digital transformation pathways for China’s health supplement industry through an empirical analysis of 107 consumer questionnaires, identifying three fundamental challenges: a severe trust crisis, product homogenization, and diminishing returns from traditional marketing. The research reveals a decisive shift in consumer behavior toward evidence-based decision-making, with 93.46% of respondents prioritizing blockchain-enabled traceability for establishing product credibility and 91.59% favoring AI-powered health consultants, signaling strong demand for personalized services. Furthermore, the study validates the economic sustainability of these digital solutions, as 82.25% of consumers are willing to pay a premium for digitally-enhanced products, with 76.64% accepting a 5-15% price increase. These findings demonstrate how integrating blockchain transparency with AI personalization can address core industry pain points, offering a viable pathway to rebuild consumer trust and create new value propositions through a “product + digital service” model.
