Abstract

Functional translation theory regards translation as a kind of “cultural transformation” and “communicative interaction”, an intercultural communication activity oriented by the function of target language. In the application translation practice, the theory provides a theoretical basis for the choice of translation strategy. The translator can select information according to the function of text and communication, select the translation strategy, and reconstruct the translation form and content according to the cultural context of the target language.
