Abstract

This research takes the Confucian Temple in Jianshui as the research scenario to explore the pathway through which Confucian cultural tourism influ-ences cultural identity. By conducting paired t-tests and analysis of variance (ANOVA) on data of tourists’ HRV, POMS, and S-AI across different scenarios, this study reveals that Confucian cultural tourism propels cultural identity through a progressive mechanism: “laying the foundation for physiological memory-transmitting emotional experiences-constructing cultural identity”.Specifically, it first elicits adaptive changes in tourists’ physiological stress responses through elements such as architectural space and rituals, thereby establishing a traceable foundation for physiological memory. Subsequently, it fosters cultural resonance at the psychological level by optimizing emotional experiences (reducing negative emotions and alleviating anxiety). Ultimately, it achieves the internalization of cultural identity through theoretical pathways of cultural identity. This research validates the transmission logic of “physiology-psychology-identity”, providing a theoretical basis for the development of Confucian cultural tourism and the cultivation of cultural identity.
