- Abstract
The pace of building new productive forces continues to accelerate, and the overall landscape of international economic and trade is undergoing profound changes. Within this context, the digital economy has found new growth models leveraging internet information technology. Supported by technologies such as big data and cloud computing, its growth is exploding. Digital trade, a core component of the digital economy, is transforming the overall structure of international trade, following the trade of manufactured and intermediate goods, and becoming a new driver of global economic growth. China adheres to the principle of using innovation to drive development. Digital trade, as an innovative trade model encompassing various forms such as online commodity transactions and digital content, has played a key role in promoting the digital transformation of the global economy. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China established the goal of building a strong trading nation, and the development of digital trade has become a crucial strategic component in achieving this goal. Anhui Province plays a key role in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and has established a solid foundation in digital infrastructure construction and industrial digitization. An in-depth study of the development of digital trade consumption in the province will help stimulate regional economic vitality and play a significant role in building a digital trade ecosystem. Based on this, this study utilizes an entropy-coupling model, focusing on digital trade consumption in Anhui Province. The analysis reveals: 1) Anhui Province’s comprehensive digital trade consumption score shows a clear and sustained upward trend, rising from 0.0572 in 2019 to 0.3400 in 2023, a nearly fivefold increase. 2) The development of each subsystem exhibits differentiated characteristics, with the consumption subsystem leading the growth rate, followed by the digital economy, and the trade economy exhibiting an inverted U-shaped trend. 3) The degree of coupling coordination has improved from severe disharmony in 2019 to high-quality coordination in 2023, with the policy dividend period of 2021 becoming a critical node in this coordinated transformation.
