Research on Leadership Style and Career Growth Prospects of Newcomers Based on Management Grid Theory

- Abstract
Newcomers will have high expectations for their careers, In order to better understand the relevant factors affecting career growth prospects, this article is based on role identity theory, through three-stage data collection, an empirical test was conducted with a sample of 875 new employees who had been employed within one year. This study found that compared with poor and task-oriented leadership styles, country club and team leadership styles have a greater impact on the career development prospects of new employees; country club and team leadership styles have a positive impact on employees’ career development prospects, while poor Leadership style and task-oriented leadership styles have a negative impact on employees’ career development prospects; job role identification partially mediates the relationship between the four leadership styles and employees’ career development prospects.
