Abstract

This study aimed to explore the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology based on Deep Learning approaches to enhance elementary school teachers’ mastery of foundational literacies. The foundational literacies in question included reading literacy, numeracy literacy, and digital literacy—essential competencies that support instructional quality in the era of digital transformation. Employing a qualitative approach with a survey method, data were collected through participatory observations, structured questionnaires, and document analysis involving 122 teachers who actively participated in an AI-based Deep Learning training program. The findings indicated that the integration of AI provided adaptive feedback tailored to teachers’ individual learning needs, facilitated professional reflection, and accelerated the acquisition of basic literacy skills. Furthermore, AI was found to function not only as a learning support tool but also as a pedagogical partner that fostered data-driven instruction and personalized learning experiences. These findings underscored the critical role of intelligent technology in sustainable professional development programs, particularly in non-urban areas with limited access to educational resources. The study recommended the development of technology-based policies to systematically strengthen teachers’ professional capacities.
