- Abstract
Students’ problems are complex, as they affect both academic achievement and mental health. These problems may be personal, social, academic, and career-related issues. Makassar, as the center of higher education in South Sulawesi, serves as an ideal location for identifying and analyzing problems among students. This study aims to identify students’ problems across four key domains: personal, social, career, and academic. This study employed a descriptive method using percentage analysis. The population of the study consisted of 11,884 students of Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). Using a simple random sampling technique, a sample of 1,269 students was selected to represent each faculty. Data were collected using the Problem Expression Tool (AUM) questionnaire. The results of the study showed that the majority of students (38.17%) at UNM faced personal problems, followed by 24.15% who reported academic problems, 19.29% who experienced career-related problems, and 18.39% who encountered social problems. The findings of this study highlight the need for intervention to address personal problems experienced by students at UNM.
