- Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the enhancement of critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students at St. Antonius Kali Catholic Elementary School, employing a quantitative research approach. A quasi-experimental design was adopted, with participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected utilizing a standardized critical thinking skills assessment instrument. The data were analyzed using an independent samples T-test with the assistance of SPSS software. The findings reveal that the Problem-Based Learning model significantly influences students’ critical thinking skills, as indicated by a p-value greater than 0.05. Consequently, a significant difference was observed between the critical thinking skills of students in the experimental group (taught using the Problem-Based Learning model) and those in the control group (taught using conventional instructional methods).
