Politeness in the Contemporary Perspective

The purpose of this study is to determine the politeness view across academic community consisting of lecturers, students and education personnel in higher education to build a conductive climate in the academic world. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with descriptive analysis to find differences in politeness perceptions. The results of the study show a change in dress and language among academics. The diversity of perceptions that change requires contact in order to avoid misunderstandings in building communication during the learning process on campus.
