Abstract

A new way to obtain the optimal tuning frequency of a single-tuned harmonic fil-ter is presented, so as to control harmonic current to the allowable value with a min-imum or given capacity of the filter. A PC-based filter design procedure accom-panied by a simulation code to verify the effectiveness of the filter was developed based on MATLAB. An industrial system was selected to demonstrate the applica-tion of the proposed procedure.
