Abstract

Nowadays, the Lahao Miao (also called Hmong) Village in Phoenix, Hunan in China is a “stone village” located on the checkpoint of the Great Wall in the South (founded in Tang Dynasty and flourished in Ming and Qing Dynasties). It is a stone village, which has the natural advantages of language contact and ethnic exchanges and research. The study of the Miao language in Lahao Miao Village will help us to clarify the historical level of the local Miao language, and it will also help us to look back at the study of Chinese. This paper conducts field investigation and research on the words with the morpheme qɒ⁵⁵ in the Lamao Hmong language, and proposes that the morpheme qɒ⁵⁵ is related to the Chinese word “you (Chinese characters written as [有])”.
