- Abstract
As the society continues to develop, readers pay more attention to translators’ jobs, but they are still not acquainted with translators and haven’t realized their importance yet. Translator’s voice first came up by Hermans and Schiavi, including all media that would affect the texts, not only referring to the translators who translate a text from one language to another. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a famous children’s book, and it has earned loads of readers’ likes since its publication. This thesis is going to analyse the famous translator---Ren Rongrong’s translation version, combining children’s literature with the translator’s voice, analysing from text information and paratextual information two parts. Exploring how translators restore the original effect of the English version of the book and add more educational meaning and interest while translating it into the Chinese version. The translator uses reduplicative words, sentence-final particles and deletes words that have a religious nature, to accord with the target readers’ reading habits. In order to enhance the educational meaning, translators add some footnotes under the text. Besides the translators, the publishers also add more details to the books, not only raising the readers’ interest but also deepening readers’ understanding of books and writers.
