- Abstract
Under China’s national strategy of building a strong maritime country, the Zhoushan Archipelago, as a significant marine tourism destination, urgently needs to enhance the international communication of its cultural and tourism resources. However, the current English translations in Zhoushan’s scenic areas face several challenges: insufficient English annotations, inconsistent translation of specific terms, ineffective expression of culturally loaded words, and a lack of audience-oriented service guidance. These issues have significantly hindered the improvement of the region’s international service standards.
Based on the “Three-Dimensional Transformation” framework of Eco-translatology, this study conducts field research on 21 scenic spots including Mount Putuo and Zhujiajian, and proposes optimization strategies for translation from linguistic, cultural, and communicative perspectives. The study aims to provide both theoretical foundations and practical approaches for improving the English translation of Zhoushan’s island cultural and tourism resources, offering valuable references for the internationalization of similar coastal regions.
