- Abstract
As an important birthplace of Chinese civilization, the Yellow River Basin has a profound cultural accumulation that has given birth to a rich array of intangible cultural heritages. Traditional lanterns, as an important form of intangible cultural heritage, feature diverse shapes and distinct regional characteristics. However, against the backdrop of urbanization and globalization, their inheritance and development are confronted with severe challenges such as the loss of skills, low economic benefits, and a shrinking audience. This article takes cultural genes as the entry point to construct a genetic map of traditional lanterns in the Yellow River Basin, systematically sort out their forms, craftsmanship and cultural connotations, and reveal the core characteristics and value logic of the evolution of lanterns. On this basis, a cultural and creative design path based on the gene map is proposed to promote the creative transformation and contemporary application of lantern art. The research aims to provide theoretical basis and practical solutions for the protection and innovation of traditional lanterns in the Yellow River Basin, and at the same time explore new methodologies for the digital protection and dynamic inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.
