This research was conducted in the Elementary School Teacher Education study program, Universitas Negeri Jakarta along 2019. Taking samples with purposeful sampling method namely 58 students. The research method used is qualitative with data collection instruments in the form of creativity tests. The results of the study showed that the low creative thinking ability possessed by students is caused by instructional and learning patterns both given by the lecturer and within students. The recommendations of this study present an instructional model that can foster or encourage creativity in students.
