Abstract

This study aims to determine the Senam GEMU FAMIRE training can increase VO2 Max. This type of research is experimental with the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample of Physiotherapy Study Program on college students amounted to 24 people divided into 2 groups. Group 1 was given Senam GEMU FAMIRE training and Group 2 as a control group, with a sample test. Average VO2Max in both groups before training with p value = 0.28 (p > 0.05) and after training with p value = 0.00 (p < 0.05). In Group 1, the average VO2Max before training was 26.05 and after training was 39.08 with a difference of 13.03 and the percentage increase was 50%. Meanwhile in Group 2, the average VO2Max before training was 25.21 and the average after training was 27.52 with a difference of 2.31 and the percentage increase was 9%. This shows that the treatment of group 1 and group 2 both gave a change effect. However, the improvement in group 1 was better than group 2. It was concluded that Senam GEMU FAMIRE training can increase VO2Max.

Frequency of exercise 3 times a week for 6 weeks. VO2Max is measured by Multistage Fitness Test. The results of the test were different from the t-paired test before and after the intra-group training. The results in Group 1 and Group 2 were significantly different with p value = 0.00 (p < 0.05). The results of the VO2Max test between the two groups before and after the training were tested using the t-independent.
