- Abstract
Safety investment in the construction industry is the fundamental guarantee of operation and production. The efficiency is affected by internal and external environmental factors. The measurement of safety efficiency can affect the safety decision-making of enterprises. The study calculates the safety investment efficiency of the construction industry in various provinces in 2023 by constructing a three-stage SBM super-efficiency DEA model of undesirable outputs and uses ArcGIS software to analyze the efficiency of spatial distribution. The results show that the average efficiency of the first stage of 30 provinces in China is 0.695. After eliminating the effects of external environmental factors, the efficiency has declined; From the perspective of spatial distribution, the overall efficiency shows a gradual downward trend from eastern to western, and the efficiency of some provinces shows a strong correlation, which has a specific agglomeration effect. In this regard, enterprises should emphasize improving safety technology and management ability in the subsequent development stage. The government should actively promote the rational flow of high-quality resources and advocate the regionally balanced development of the construction industry’s safety situation.
