Abstract

The students in general from polytechnic colleges are relatively poor in English. To improve their English, teachers are required to take appropriate and effective strategies. The thesis presents the following arguments: building an ideal teacher-student relationship, gaining confidence and competence, accepting the individual differences, homogeneous grouping, point reward system.
