It is with great pride and honour that International Tea Symposium (InTSym100) Orga-nizing Committee present this Abstracts of Proceedings published in commemoration of the 100 years celebration of the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka (TRI). To mark this historic milestone, the Institute organized an International Research Symposium, inviting contributions from both Sri Lankan and foreign scientists engaged in advancing tea research and development.

The Symposium Secretariat received a total of 73 research papers covering a wide spectrum of topics related to tea including tea breeding, biotechnology, biochemistry, crop protection and sustainability, climate change, mechanization, process technology, extension, and socio-economics. Each submission underwent a rigorous review process, evaluated by at least two independent subject specialists, ensuring the quality and rele-vance of the scientific content. Final acceptance decisions were made by the Editorial Board.

This Abstracts of Proceedings compiles 49 selected abstracts, representing 34 oral presentations and 15 poster presentations, organized under seven thematic areas Inno-vations in Tea Crop Improvement and Biotechnology, Quality Improvement and Prod-uct Innovation, Competitiveness and Market Trends in Tea, Gender, Society and Tea, Innovative Approaches in Sustainable Crop Protection, Climate Resilience and Crop Sustainability, and Technology Transfer in Tea.

By encompassing a diverse range of contemporary tea research from both local and international scientists, this publication aims to serve as a valuable reference and resource for researchers, academics, and industry professionals. The Symposium Sec-retariat extends sincere gratitude to all contributors for their dedication to advancing the global tea industry. It is our hope that these studies will inspire innovation, guide sustainable practices, and strengthen the future resilience of tea cultivation worldwide.
