Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand consumers’ perceptions of the role of sustainable green coffee shops in promoting creative industry activities in public spaces. This study was prompted by the phenomenon of the development of coffee shops, which now serve not only as places to enjoy coffee but also as sustainable, socially engaging, and creative spaces that actively support communities and creative industry players. The approach chosen for this study is qualitative, using a case study of Fore Coffee consumers. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions directed at a group of consumers who had visited and participated in activities at the coffee shop. The findings of the study indicate that the majority of consumer’s view Fore Coffee not merely as a place to relax, but also as a sustainable green space that supports creative activities, such as art exhibitions, public discussions, and collaborative initiatives with the local community. They also perceive a friendly, aesthetically pleasing, environmentally conscious, and creativity-supporting atmosphere, making the coffee shop an alternative public space with social, cultural, and ecological value. Additionally, Fore Coffee is actively providing a platform for young artists and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their work and interact directly with visitors. Thus, it can be concluded that consumer perspectives indicate that sustainable green coffee shops play a significant role in promoting creative industry activities and are part of the dynamic and sustainable development of public spaces in urban areas.
