Abstract

Nature-based sustainable tourism is increasingly at the forefront of managing tourist destinations. An example of a tourist destination that uses this concept is Dusun Bambu located in Bandung. The purpose of this study is to observe and describe this management in relation to environmental sustainability, involve local communities, and convey educational values to tourists. This type of research will use descriptive design when data is collected, using the process of observation and literature review. This study shows the priority on environmental preservation with the use of environmentally friendly materials and responsible waste management. Evidence of local community involvement and visitor education is presented by introducing visitors to local culture, utilizing and marketing micro products. All of them provide evidence of the application of construction materials that embrace nature, responsibility towards waste management and towards the participation of small business agents around the site. Dusun Bambu not only provides visitors with an experience with natural attractions, but also encourages visitors to take responsibility for their interactions with the environment. This research concludes that the success of Dusun Bambu lies in its ability to integrate environmental, social, and economic sustainability, making it a model for other tourist destinations seeking to implement based tourism principles.
