Abstract

Perumdam X has eight water treatment installations, one of which is the “C” Installation. One of the areas served by the “C” Installation is the A District. At the “C” Installation, there is a pipe leak in the A District, which causes water not to reach customers, while the demand for water in A is increasing. This research aims to determine the condition of the pipe issue for the A District through the “C” Installation of Perumdam X, ascertain the extent of water that does not reach customers at the “C” PDAM Perumdam X in 2024, and project the development of water demand against the availability of water at the “C” Installation from 2024 to 2074 based on the number of customers. The research method employed is a literature study. Data was collected from releases by BPS and Perumdam X, including population numbers, the number of Perumdam X customers, pipe maps, and pipe data. Data analysis was conducted using EPANET 2.2. The results of the study indicate that the average demand is at a moderate density level. The average head is around 278.13 m. The average pressure is within a safe range. The average flow is intended for household distribution. The average velocity is classified as low. The average headloss is within a reasonable range, although it is at the upper limit of the optimal range. The average production water loss is 12.05%, which is still relatively stable but slightly above the ideal standard (<10%). Distribution water loss is significantly higher, with an average of 28.82%. Assuming that the population growth at the “C” Installation remains constant each year, by 2030, the available production capacity (42 L/s) is projected to be insufficient to fully meet customer demand, leading to a potential water supply deficit. It is recommended that Perumdam X optimize the distribution system through routine leak detection and replacement of old pipes, evaluate pipe diameters, assess the production process, and plan for an increase in production capacity.
