- Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of cooperatives in converting livestock waste into green energy as an effort to support a sustainable economy. The study focuses on the North Bandung Cattle Farmers Cooperative (KPSBU) in Lembang using a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with cooperative administrators and members as well as a systematic literature review. The results show that cooperatives facilitate the implementation of biogas technology through member training, collective funding, and sustainable education programs. This program has generated economic impacts in the form of energy cost efficiency and additional income from the use of biogas and organic fertilizer, as well as social impacts in the form of increased environmental awareness and community solidarity. These findings confirm the strategic role of cooperatives as drivers of green energy transition at the grassroots level and their contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the aspects of clean energy and inclusive economic growth.
