- Abstract
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck Indonesia, the public was advised to avoid places that could generate large crowds. Nevertheless, people still needed to meet their daily needs through shopping, often at the nearest shopping malls. Apart from shopping, many people also visited malls simply for leisure or to seek a change of atmosphere. This study aims to identify which shopping malls in Bandung were most frequently visited by university students during the pandemic. Data were collected from 52 student respondents and analyzed using distribution analysis and correspondence analysis. The findings show that Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP) was the most preferred shopping mall among students during the pandemic. BIP is particularly favored by young adults due to its high-tension entertainment facilities, such as cinemas and karaoke venues, which appeal to those with hedonic motivations or recreational satisfaction seeking. The implications of this study provide useful insights for designing marketing strategies that align with student preferences.
