- Abstract
In order to preserve environmental equilibrium and sustain the way of life for coastal populations, mangroves are an extremely vital ecosystem. The purpose of this study was to assess the structure and health of the mangrove community in Lembung Paseser Village, Sepulu District, Bangkalan Regency. The study employed purposive sampling and hemispherical photography for data collecting. The findings revealed that a variety of mangrove species were present, including Sonneratia alba, Rhizopora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizopora stylosa, Avicennia marina, and Excoecaria agallocha. The most common mangrove species found in the study area was Rhizophora mucronata, with an INP value ranging from 68.73 to 124.10. The mangrove health index value ranged between 54.47 to 70.95% or in moderate to good condition. Overall, the proportion of mangrove health parameters in Lembung Paseser Village are in a moderate state.
